Day 1

  • Breakfast in the morning market.

  • Travel by Jeep to Nam Sing Village for 36 Kms.

  • Coffee stop at PhuPhet PhuKham farm.

  • Walk through the fields and jungle.

  • Trek uphill to the viewpoint for lunch.

  • Challenging hike to the campsite on top of the mountain.

  • Sunset at Phaling mountain camp.

  • Lao dinner with a nice glass of local rice whisky.

  • First night camping under a sky full of stars.

  • Morning coffee with a view over the sea of clouds.

  • Breakfast at the camp.

  • Steep downhill trek to the river.

  • Lunch break in the forest.

  • Uphill walk along the dirt road to Nam Vhan village.

  • Visit of the village school and interaction with children.

  • Hike to the Lahu village and lunch in the forest.

  • Presentation of the villagers and of their ways of living.

  • Dinner and night in a Lahu homestay.

  • Rice beating demonstration from villagers.

  • Hike downhill to Namsing with possible visit of deep caves on the way.

  • Pick up in Namsing and lunch at Phuphet Phukham farm.

  • Relax and bathe on the P.P. proprety.

  • Jeep back to LouangNamTha City.

Kayaking / boating

The river flow varies dramatically based on the time of year. At certain times the rapids will require some level of skill to navigate.

Trekking

Most of the trekking in the Nam vang NPA would not be considered easy. The terrain in steep,rugged and covered in dense jungle.

What to bring

  • A pair of closed shoes

  • Sun protection

  • Insect repellent

  • Flip flops or water shoes

  • Longs pants to protect your legs

  • Warm clothes for the night  

  • A torch or headlamp

  • A day pack with room to carry your water. (which we provide)

  • It your trek includes a jungle camp you will need to carry a sleeping bag. (Which we provide)
